Frequently Asked Questions

The tabs to the right are a list of the questions we get asked the most often. Click on the section you’re most interested in. If you do not find an answer, please email us the question and we will get you an answer

Are there on-line classes are available?

Yes!  We are working on more, too.  Currently our Powered Industrial Truck Training is available. We will be bringing more classes online in SubStation, Utility, Construction and Electrical Safety soon, check back on our progress.

How long do I have to complete the class?
On-line classes typically have 6 months to complete for an individual class.
Do your classes meet OSHA requirements?
Many classes meet OSHA requirements. However there are new requirements that state that you must “demonstrate proficiency” for some classes. That part can be completed with an on-site visit and advanced planning.

We have used Industrial Safety Institute instructor Scott Young at five of our power generation facilities to provide substation/switchyard switching and tagging safety, Arc Flash NFPA 70 E training, grounding and basic electric safety training. Scott’s level of experience, knowledge and professionalism was excellent and the information delivered in such a way that students want to engage, understand, and apply the knowledge. The training was specific to our needs and very well received by our staff.

Ralph Randall Director, Thermal Operations, Invenergy Services

Scott has conducted several training classes for our company, including fall protection, aerial work platform qualification, forklift operation, and power system switching.  All of his courses were well-planned, thorough, and included frequent written tests and hands-on experience to ensure students understand the material and are qualified to current industry standards. I would recommend Industrial Safety Institute to anyone desiring high quality and cost effective workplace training.
