R. Scott Young, CUSP, BA
Is the owner of Industrial Safety Institute. He has worked in the electric utility industry for 27 years and has extensive experience in high-voltage substation operation, maintenance and testing. Scott has developed a number of utility-related technical and safety training programs. In 2005, he formed the Industrial Safety Institute. Scott is aCertified-Substation technician and Circuit Breaker technician. Instructor- NFPA 70E Arc Flash, Electrical Safety for Industrial Facilities, Electrical Safety for Utilities, Electrical Safety, Low-Voltage, High-Voltage qualified. Authorized OSHA 10/30 hr. instructor General Industry, Construction Industry. OTI instructor-Florida State College at Jacksonville- 500, 502, 510, 501, 503, 511. OSHA Compliance Training- Confined space, Fall Protection, Scaffold Building, Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tag Out, Excavation, Forklift Training, Crane- Signal Person & Rigging, Aerial Device. Member- ASSE, NFPA, IEEE Member, Published Author- Incident Prevention Magazine. Worked at Tampa Electric Company 1979-2005.
Sterling Fields EMT, BLS, HAZMAT – Affiliate Instructor
Mr. Fields has been a Firefighter/EMT for Largo Fire Rescue since 2005. He obtained both his EMT Certification and Florida State Firefighter Certification through St. Petersburg College. In 2007 he obtained certification as a CPR/First Aid instructor. In 2010, he completed the state requirements to become a State Certified Hazmat Technician. Sterling truly enjoys teaching others as much as he enjoys learning about new things.
