SWITCHING AND TAGGING
Let ISI schedule one of our dedicated instructors to conduct Switching and Tagging for your business unit. We can conduct classes for new employees, other departments or refresher training for the experienced employee. We can modify our program to be specific to your entity and its procedures and provide you with valuable documentation when completed (8-16 Hrs). ( Exceeds OSHA 1910 R and 1926 Subpart V)
CONFINED SPACE ENTRY-PERMITTED and NON-PERMITTED
Various utility equipment and work areas- Power plant spaces, Substation Transformer maintenance and inspections as well as Circuit Breakers are considered PRCS’s. ISI’s program includes- hazard recognition and understanding the true definition of permit-required spaces, reclassification and rescue. Rescue pre-planning and training, proper use of safety and rescue equipment will also be discussed. Permit Required Confined Space education includes classroom and hands-on (Rescue) training (8, 16, 24 Hrs). ( Exceeds OSHA 1910.146)
FALL PROTECTION TRAINING
There are numerous changes in fall protection equipment. This class is designed to teach the proper use and selection of fall protection equipment as well as recognition of counterfeit equipment that is currently entrenched in the industry today. This is a comprehensive program that covers many of the hazards and situations encountered in the utility industry. ISI instructors will discuss the safety and operational aspects of the equipment, rescue planning as well as conduct hands-on evaluations (8- 16 Hrs.). AERIAL DEVICE TRAINING
Operating equipment like- bucket trucks, snorkel lifts, serve-lifts, mobile platforms and scissor lifts all require specific training. This is a comprehensive program that covers aerial devices used in the utility industry. ISI instructors will discuss the safety and operational aspects of individual types of equipment as well as hands-on training and rescue for selected equipment on your site (4-8 Hrs.). PERSONAL PROTECTIVE GROUNDS TRAINING
Personal Protective grounding is required in many aspects of the utility industry. We will discuss the reasons, procedure and regulations of this extremely important process. (Exceeds OSHA 1910 Subpart R and 1926 Subpart V)
SAFETY AWARENESS IN SUBSTATIONS
NESC and OSHA 1926, 1910 require personnel working inside an energized Substation (Contracted or employees from different departments) to be trained to recognize site-specific hazards in Substations. ISI has designed this course to point out those dangers and how to avoid them while working in and around Substation equipment. (Exceeds OSHA 1910 Subpart R and 1926 Subpart V)
